Taqelah Testing Conference 2027

Code of Conduct

TTC is dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming and harassment-free experience for everyone. This code applies to all attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers and organisers.

Our pledge

We want the Taqelah Testing Conference to be a place where testers and quality professionals of every background can learn, share and connect without fear of harassment or discrimination. We are committed to a respectful environment regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or level of experience. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.

Expected behaviour

  • Be considerate, respectful and collaborative in your words and actions.
  • Assume good intent and give people the benefit of the doubt.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behaviour and speech.
  • Be mindful of your fellow participants and alert organisers if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or a violation of this code.
  • Respect the venue, the online platforms, and the community spaces we all share.

Unacceptable behaviour

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality or religion.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention, advances or comments, and the display of sexual or violent imagery.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following, whether in person or online.
  • Sustained disruption of talks, workshops or other events.
  • Photography, recording or sharing of a person without their consent.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour.

Where this applies

This code applies to all conference spaces, including talks, workshops, breaks, social events, sponsor booths, online channels, chat, video calls and social media related to the event. It applies to everyone taking part, including attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers and organisers.

Reporting an incident

If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this code, or have any other concern, please contact the organising team as soon as you can. Reports are treated confidentially.

Contact the organisers

  • Email: contact@taqelah.sg
  • In person: find any organiser or volunteer (look for the staff badge) at the event.

When reporting, please share what happened, who was involved, and where and when it took place, if you are comfortable doing so. You can also make an anonymous report by email.

Enforcement

Participants asked to stop any unacceptable behaviour are expected to comply immediately. Organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including a warning, expulsion from the conference with no refund, and reporting the matter to venue security or local authorities. We reserve the right to deny entry or participation to anyone who violates this code.

Acknowledgements

This code of conduct is adapted from established open conference and community templates, including the Berlin Code of Conduct and the Contributor Covenant. It is provided under the same spirit of openness so that other events may reuse and adapt it.
